Jan 19, 2020  Some may be familiar with Phantasy Star Portable and Portable 2 which received English releases, however 2 Infinity never did. Personally I really like this game and it's quite a considerable expansion so I thought it was a shame no patch has been released so I decided to take a look.

When humans were no longer the only living things in the solar system, instead, there appeared new species of Newman, beast, and Cast. To protect the peace of the universe, the planets of the solar system have allied together to form a team of warriors to protect and fight with mysterious alien creatures called SEED. The conflict ended but peace was not long before Vivienne – an Android Cast discovered that some SEED out there were still causing trouble. Vivienne and his colleagues continue on the path of destroying hazards to keep the universe in equilibrium.

Phantasy Star Portable is based on Phantasy Star Universe and its latest expansion, Ambition of the Illuminus. The new and outstanding feature that is said to go further than the previous versions is the player’s ability to create their own character. Change your face, eye color, eyebrows, eyelashes, ears, body-color, clothes, shoes and even voice (costumes and equipment you can change by buying in the store). While creating a character, you can also choose a Cast – controlled by AI to be a companion. Each of these assistants has the feature and brings the usefulness (specialize in attacking or healing) according to the player’s choice. When starting a mission, the first thing is to choose one of the four available races. Then start the arduous journey by destroying all the monsters, spanning many areas. You need to pass many levels, then proceed to fight with the Boss at each level change. If won, it will bring some experience points, currency or valuable items. Of course, that is not the only way to get benefits. Because of the mission, it is also possible to collect more weapons, or armor scattered on the map. Unlike previous versions, there were only four characters save positions; in this version, the number increased to eight. Another point is that there are two missions: one that allows the exchange of items called a “Weapon Badge” for items and weapons that assist in attacking enemies. With the characteristics I have just presented, this game really stands out in the adventure-action portfolio, with many adventurous factors that stimulate people’s ability to conquer. Moreover, the basic, easy to grasp gameplay is whether a rookie or an experienced person is worth a try.
